Yong-au-rrl ah shim mi ta!
Rightio, had a pretty good weekend! Went out for my mums boyfriend’s birthday to a local thai restaurant which was really quite good, just like I remember from the first time I went there. But I haven’t been to Thailand yet so I cant really compare it.
I am going full steam ahead for these jobs in Korea. I have pretty much given up looking for a job in the UK, no body wants me! (
It doesn’t matter.
Then on Sunday went for a meal at my dad’s and he had some friends over, had a chat with dad about Korea and he started to support me a bit more. He seemed a bit sceptical about it, but so am I. On the other hand that’s not going to put me off. I am in a bit of a cushie position here right now, claiming benefits living at home, and I feel that this is not how my life should be. It should be exciting I should be taking chances and doing exciting stuff, not signing on every couple of weeks and speculative job applying.
So on Monday I went into town to the Korean Embassy and sorted my degree notarisation thing. Which my dad said that it would cost £40 but it was only £2.50 (not including the day I spent in town and travel and stuff). It was good cos I used that opportunity to hook up with my brother. He is pretty happy, just got a new job and a bit of a pay rise so that’s good news. I think now he can get on the property ladder and start the long slow climb! I am thinking of moving in with him when I get back from Korea (assuming Korea is a certainty!) and going to a London university to get an MSc. I think that’s a good idea. I’d quite like to go to Imperial perhaps, and do Environmental Management and something or another. It sounds pretty perfect. I am also temped to do an Open University course.
A friend just told me that it was her birthday this Sunday and that she is going out on Saturday night. I might go down to kill two birds… to wish happy birthday and to see my mates a last time before I go to Korea. I asked my dad if he’d lend me a ton if I went to Korea, he said he’d give it to me, which was nice. Its not a massive amount but its something, I think I will need it by the sounds of it! If I have to pay for my own ticket I will need to fork out about £370 for that, and then I will not be paid for about a month after that, so I will need expenses.
And I am going to have to get some sort of entertainment… ipod, Sony mp3 walkman, or something. I am thinking the ipod because of the picture facilities. When in Korea I am thinking I might get PSP or something, depending on what I earn/save.
Right I feel like I am gonna hurl since eating dinner, so I am gonna chill for a bit.
